A FASHION show and raffle at M&Co in Musselburgh has raised £1,100 to help send a Prestonpans boy with a rare brain tumour for treatment.

Five-year-old Alex Logan took to the catwalk himself, joining other young models to show off some clothes from the company’s Kite & Cosmic Kids range.

Store manager Lisa-Marie Navara said: “A huge thanks to all that helped organise and donated raffle price for the Action for Alex fashion show.”

In addition to children’s clothes, the autumn ranges for women and men were also on show at the event.

Afterwards everyone got the chance to look at their favourite items up close and make purchases with 10 per cent off.

Alex has been diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), the same condition which has affected Tranent youngster Luke Stewart who is undergoing specialist treatment in Mexico.

Alex’s family have launched an appeal to raise funds for treatment after doctors warned that their options in Scotland were limited.

He was diagnosed with DIPG on September 6 and friends and relatives have rallied to support the family, with fundraising events organised and a JustGiving page set up.

Alex’s mum Paula works in Poundland in Musselburgh.

Prestonpans professional boxing champion Josh Taylor is supporting Alex by taking part in a darts exhibition which is being arranged for next Sunday (December 10) in Prestonpans, with other special guests including professional darts players.

Josh also dedicated his victory against Miguel Vazquez in the recent WBC Silver super lightweight title fight to Alex.
