ABOUT £7,000 of drugs has been seized by police after a search of a house.
Following information from the public, a warrant was executed at a house on Preston Avenue, Prestonpans, on Friday.
Herbal cannabis and cannabis resin, collectively worth £5,600, cocaine worth £1,400 and drug paraphrenalia were seized at the address.
A 47-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were subsequently charged and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Tuesday).
Prestonpans Inspector Andy Harborow said: "A number of resources from across the Lothians and Scottish Borders Division supported the execution of this warrant, including local officers, officers from the Community Investigation Unit and detectives from Proactive CID.
"These drugs cause serious harm to our communities and we remain committed to acting on all the information we receive from the public regarding drug crime.
"Anyone with information or concerns about drug misuse can contact Police Scotland on 101, or report this anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
