A 69-YEAR-OLD woman has been charged following an investigation into unauthorised payments from a church bank account.
Police were called in to investigate after auditors allegedly discovered thousands of pounds of discrepancies in the accounts of Chalmers Memorial Church, Port Seton.
Police today confirmed they have charged a woman in connection with what they described as a "high value fraud".
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The crime was reported to police in September 2016 and relates to Chalmers Memorial Church in Port Seton.
"A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and she is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on a later date."
