A PRESTONPANS man has appeared in court accused of attacking a woman and stealing her handbag.
Christopher Gray is alleged to have assaulted Helen Wilson by struggling with her on the town’s Kirk Street on May 2.
Gray, 35, of Bankfoot, is said to have seized the woman’s handbag, allegedly causing her to fall to the ground.
He is then alleged to have robbed her of the bag and its contents and then run off.
Gray appeared in the dock at Edinburgh Sheriff Court from custody last Friday, where he pleaded not guilty.
A trial was set for August 14 and he was released on bail.
