A man was conned out of £7,500 in an online dating scam
POLICE are investigating after a man was conned out of £7,500 through an online dating scam.
Police Scotland said it received a report of fraud from a man living at Whin Park, Cockenzie, last month.
They said the incident, which is understood to have involved a female perpetrator, involved a dating website.
A police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating following a report of an online fraud in Cockenzie.
"The incident was reported to police on April 8 and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
