A PRESTONPANS man has been placed on a supervision order after he admitted attacking his wife. . . including by blowing pepper in her face.

Wojciech Rycabel pressed a knife against his wife’s head during a row at the couple’s home on the town’s Grange Crescent West last October.

Rycabel also assaulted the woman by blowing pepper in her face, seizing her by the body and kicking her on the body when the couple clashed further on January 8 this year.

The 39-year-old was due to stand trial on the charges this week but he changed his not guilty plea to a guilty one during an intermediate court hearing. Rycabel was ordered to be supervised by the authorities for the next two years and he must also attend sessions at the Caledonian Men’s Programme in a bid to stop his domestic abuse.

A not guilty plea to a third charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and behaving in an aggressive manner was accepted.

Rycabel admitted to presenting a knife to his wife and pressing it to her head at Grange Crescent West, Prestonpans, between October 1 and 31 last year. He also admitted blowing pepper in her face and seizing the woman and kicking her to the body at the same location on January 8.
