REPORTS of a secondary school closure following a police incident have been dismissed as a hoax.
Paul Reynolds, headteacher at Ross High School, Tranent, took to social media on Sunday to deny claims which circulated on the internet over the weekend.
It was alleged online that the school would be closed this week following an incident on Friday evening involving police.
However Mr Reynolds used Twitter to deny the claims, telling everyone it was business as usual at the school this week.

The hoax, which appeared on website breakingnews247.net and was quickly shared on Facebook, said that the school had been closed "due to a breaking incident".
It reported: "This took place on Friday 4th November around 11.30pm - 12.30pm. The police are invovled (sic) and have checked over Ross high cctv cameras."
Police Scotland confirmed to the Courier that they had attended the school on Friday evening but said there were no reports of any criminal activity.
They said officers were called over concerns about an open door, which turned out to have been blown open by the wind.
