IT is almost one year to the day since thousands gathered along the coast and on the hills surrounding Cockenzie to watch the iconic power station chimneys fall.
While the future of the site remains uncertain, the fascination with the unique spectacle it created continues across the globe.
Images of the spectacular demolition have been shared around the world and video footage shot by ScottishPower's own drone remains in demand from broadcasters.
It is even big in Japan where, only last month, the footage was causing a sensation as it was aired on TV Tokyo as part of the Impossible World programme.
A spokesperson for ScottishPower said the interest in the footage remains as strong as ever.
He said: "It has become a globally viewed event with stations in New Zealand, Germany and Russia shows the footage, and now it is big in Japan after it was aired on television there.
"Even a year on from the even there is still demand from broadcasters on the other side of the world to show the footage."
Work at the site is expected to continue into the New Year as the finals tages of demolition continue.
Here we look back at some of the images from the day itself...were you there?
