SCHOOL bus passes which bear the names and pictures of children have been sent to the wrong addresses.
Parents of children in the Port Seton area have received passes which have their address on them, but details of a different child.
East Lothian Council has appealed to people who receive the wrong pass to hand them in to Port Seton Centre after the problem came to light.
New passes are expected to be issued by the end of the week.
Parents of Preston Lodge pupils took to social media over the weekend to highlight the problem.
In a number of cases the passes related to the bus stop used by the child who lived at the address, but bore the name and photograph of a completely different pupil.
A spokesperson for East Lothian Council said: "Unfortunately, there was a technical issue with the production of bus passes for users in the Port Seton area.
"This means that sometimes photos and personal details don’t match.
"We are asking everyone affected return their passes to Port Seton Community so that the council can process them. New passes will be distributed by the end of this week.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone who brought this matter to our attention."
