JOAN Armatrading has cancelled a planned gig at North Berwick's Fringe by the Sea festival for the second time in a week, just a matter of hours before the rearranged concert was set to take place.
The three-time Grammy nominee had pulled out of her scheduled gig last Tuesday on medical advice.
Festival organisers remained hopeful that a replacement gig could be arranged and Armatrading's management confirmed on Sunday that "should be OK to perform" tonight (Monday) at the Spiegeltent after a "marked recovery".
However, this morning, they again contacted Fringe by the Sea organisers to cancel the gig for a second time.
A post on the Fringe by the Sea Facebook page said: "Bad news on tonight's gig. Joan Armatrading's management sent an email this morning cancelling.
"We are devastated, as you guys will be.
"There will, of course, be full refunds just as soon as we can get the process in place. Please bear with us."
