Family from around the world travelled to North Berwick to celebrate a landmark birthday this month.

Davina Chisholm celebrated her 100th birthday on March 13, and family from France and Switzerland descended on the town to help her celebrate.

Davina was born in Musselburgh on March 13, 1915, the youngest of four sisters.

Her father ran a lathe and plaster business on the town’s Millhill.

The family have notable connections with golf – her great-uncle was David ‘Deacon’ Brown, who won The Open in 1886, held in his home town of Musselburgh, and was runner-up in the 1903 US Open.

Davina worked as a hairdresser in Edinburgh, where she met her husband Duncan.

She spent her married life in Broxburn, helping run the family drapers’ business and travelled widely, visiting her children, who have been living in different corners of the world.

Since moving to North Berwick she has loved her 16 years there and the companionship of Craigleith View.

Davina has four children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and they were on hand to help her mark her 100th birthday with an open house at her North Berwick home, followed by a meal in Gullane.
