A CHARITY shop has urged a shoplifter to return a designer bag stolen from its window.

The Mulberry bag was taken from Oxfam’s North Berwick High Street store last week.

A sign in the shop reads: “Please don’t start the year as the person who stole our Mulberry bag from the window.

“Don’t use it when every time you know you are using stolen goods.

“Don’t try selling it on eBay, where you know sales are monitored and you run the risk of prosecution.

“Please just put it in a plastic bag and return to us as an anonymous donation.

“You will feel a lot better; your self-respect is worth more than £150.

“Just mark it down as a mistake and give it back.”
