PIRATE Weekend is set to return at the Scottish Seabird Centre next weekend.
Inspired by the link between Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island and the island of Fidra, Pirate Weekend is a treasure chest full of fun, celebrating the high seas, and is one of the highlights of the Seabird Centre’s events calendar.
A host of fun and games, from an X marks the spot competition to pirate penny games and a treasure hunt will be on offer on October 22 and 23.
Alex Turnbull, discovery centre manager, said: “Pirate Weekend is always great fun and it’s so fantastic to see our visitors dressed to the nines, as salty sea dogs or pirate princesses.“This year, for those that cannot join the festivities, we are encouraging them to dress up at home and share their photos with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #SeabirdPirates
“The best pictures will receive some pirate treasure, as will the best dressed pirates who visit us over the weekend.”
Admission to the discovery centre is £8.95/£4.95 and for more information, visit seabird.org
