A CREW from North Berwick RNLI were called out to help a boat caught in a piece of rope.
They received the call shortly after 4pm last Wednesday, after local boat Braveheart had become entangled in the rope.
The vessel was still capable of moving, albeit at a reduced speed, so the lifeboat escorted it back to North Berwick Harbour and stood by while it tied up.
The skipper had requested the assistance of the RNLI as he was aware that, although he was still able to make progress with his vessel and steer it, if the rope moved this could change.
Rhona Meikle, North Berwick Lifeboat helm, said: “The skipper made the correct decision to contact the coastguard and request our assistance at the earliest opportunity. As a result we were at close hand should he have required any assistance. We were on-scene quickly and all involved were safely back on dry land within a short space of time.”
