EAST Lothian MP George Kerevan has pledged to head to France with a local choir after praising the importance of international links.
The politician visited Musselburgh Town Twinning Association’s festival exhibition at The Hollies.
And he met members of the Clark Community Choir, fresh from the fancy dress parade, with berets, striped sweaters and strings of onions.
The choir is raising funds to visit Musselburgh’s twin town Champigny-sur-Marne in France next year and performed for the politician.
He pledged to join them when they travel abroad next spring, “Parliamentary business permitting”.
Mr Kerevan said: “It’s so important to keep up these international links. They offer wonderful opportunities for our young people, and for the exchange of ideas.”
