Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a recent spate of housebreakings in Musselburgh.
Between April 16 and June 4, 11 break-ins occurred at properties on Market Street, New Street, Stoneybank Gardens, Campie Gardens, Bush Terrace, Bellfield Avenue, Albert Terrace, Millhill and Hope Place.
Operation RAC enquiries established that each of these incidents was linked and a 21-year-old man was detained yesterday (Sunday) and subsequently charged.
He was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Monday).
Chief Inspector Matt Paden, Local Area Commander for East Lothian said: “The public identified housebreaking as a priority and we continue to respond to this through robust enforcement, as well as offering a range of crime prevention advice to our communities.
“If you wish to report information relating to housebreaking or acquisitive crime in your area then please call us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
