POLICE are investigating after a fire in one of the toilets at Musselburgh Grammar School on Wednesday.
The fire, just after noon, was described as "a minor fire incident" by a spokeswoman for East Lothian Council.
She said: "The fire, which was contained in an isolated area of the school, was dealt with quickly by the Fire and Rescue Service.
"The fire evacuation was carried out by the book and there were no injuries.
"The school remained open and the scheduled exams went ahead as planned.
"Some pupils had a longer lunch than usual so that smoke in the building could disperse properly before they went back in. There was minimal damage."
Firefighters from Musselburgh and Newcraighall attended at the school, shortly after 12.05pm and, wearing breathing apparatus, put out the fire.
