MUSSELBURGH Windsor FC threw a dinner party on Sunday to mark its 60th anniversary season, attended by former players, committee and stalwarts of the past.
Following a three-course meal, guests were brought up to date with the club’s modern operations and shown a video about the Scottish FA Quality Mark.
Earlier in the year, the club was successful in attaining the Community award from the sport’s governing body.
Tributes were paid to coaches Andy Grubb, Paul Hood, Johnny Brown and Rab Taylor, who received a crystal award for five years’ service.
A special long-service award was presented to Derek Weir, who joined the club 25 years ago.
Windsor president Scott Robertson told the audience of Derek’s unique involvement with the club and the number of roles and tasks he had undertaken since joining in 1989.
He also issued a public apology for periods in the past when the club had not properly recognised Derek and his work.
Mr Robertson said: “I feel it is right and proper as head of this club that I say sorry for the mistakes of the past.”
