A CAST of star Scottish actors are to give a modern take on a Shakespearean classic at the Brunton Theatre next month as part of a UK tour.
Rapture Theatre Company is presenting a new version of Hamlet set in the contemporary Glasgow underworld.
The play sees Hamlet caught between the idealistic world of his university and the world of terror and death that his criminal family represents.
The cast includes Grant O'Rourke in the title role, Valerie Gogan (Dangerous Liaisons) and Dave Anderson (Gregory's Girl).
The production will be at the Musselburgh venue on Wednesday, March 10. Tickets are £10.50 and £8.50, and £6 for under 18s.
They are available now from Brunton Theatre Box Office on 0131 6652240 or online at www.bruntontheatre.co.uk.
Meanwhile, traditional Scottish music stars, the Battlefield Band, will be making an appearance at the Brunton Hall next month.
Under their banner 'Forward With Scotland's Past', Battlefield Band play Scottish music with a fusion of ancient and modern instruments including bagpipes, fiddle, synthesizers, guitar, cittern, flute, bodhran and accordion.
Battlefield Band will take to the stage at the Brunton on March 1.
