A ROBBER hit his victim with a hammer as he stole his possessions.
Alexander Manclark repeatedly struck his victim Michael Cunningham with the makeshift weapon after he had burst into the man’s home on Edenhall Bank, Musselburgh.
Manclark then robbed the man of a mobile phone, various bank cards and cigarettes, as well as making off with a TV licence card, a tobacco tin and two sets of keys during the incident on May 25 last year.
The attacker appeared in court from custody and pleaded guilty to the offence at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday.
Pleas of not guilty to breaking a bail condition by entering Delta Road, Musselburgh, on June 5 last year and to giving police officers false details on June 28 were accepted by the Crown, as was a fourth charge of failing to appear at the city court on March 26.
Sheriff Frank Crowe remanded Manclark, 29, from Edinburgh, in custody and deferred sentence to June 27.
