HUNDREDS of people flocked to a Christmas fair at Burgh Primary School, raising about £2,000 for school funds.
The children met Santa, played games and won prizes at the recent event.
Generous donations for the raffle included a piece of robot art painted by Musselburgh artist Toby Larner.
Jason Rose, school parent council chairman, said: “We had some very generous donations to our raffle from local businesses, including Bams Delicatessen.”
The cash raised will help fund a new sound system for the assembly hall and library upgrade.
Mr Rose added: “It really wouldn’t have been possible without the help and hard work of an army of volunteer parents and carers who spent months planning and organising, then setting up, staffing the day and clearing up afterwards, so they deserve special thanks for their time.
“We hope more parents get involved in the school council in the months ahead as we start to think about the summer fair in June.”
