A FOOTBALL match set up to raise money for Tranent youngster Luke Stewart proved such a big hit there are plans to make it an annual event.
Organised by Allan Armstrong to raise funds for the Help Luke campaign, the match pitted Allan’s Wimpey team against Wallyford and was held on Pinkie 3G pitch in Musselburgh on Saturday.
And while the result did not go in Allan’s favour, with Wallyford winning 6-2, the fundraising proved a success, bringing in £547 on the day for the youngster.
Allan said that, despite the defeat, it was a memorable day he now planned to hold annually.
Supporters are raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for seven-year-old Luke, who is currently in Mexico receiving groundbreaking treatment for a rare brain tumour.
