THREE men have been arrested after a man was attacked and robbed in Musselburgh last night.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault, which happened in Old Course Gate in the town.
The 37-year-old victim raised the alarm after receiving what was described as 'serious' injuries during the attack.
Officers said three men, aged 42, 40 and 38, have all been arrested and are expected to appear in court later this week.
A fourth person is also being sought in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers are following a positive line of inquiry to trace another individual believed to be involved in this incident, however anyone with information that can assist police with this ongoing investigation is asked to come forward immediately."
