A MUSSELBURGH mum has criticised East Lothian Council for failing to carry out work in her council-owned home. . . more than two years after she first voiced concerns.
Isabell Telford contacted the Courier to highlight problems of damp and water leaking through the ceilings of her flat, on the top-storey of a block in the Newbigging area of Musselburgh.
Isabell told the Courier: "There is water coming in through the ceilings in almost every room in the house.
"I've contacted the council and they have sent surveyors round to check it.
"One woman told me there was nothing that could be done, but another man came and he said it needed to be fixed.
"They have done nothing about it."
The mum-of-three said she had contacted the local authority "every couple of weeks" for about six months after she moved in, but has phoned "only a couple of times in the last six months."
East Lothian Council has been approached for a comment
