PEOPLE in Musselburgh are being asked to help find an elderly man who has gone missing form his home in Edinburgh.

William Scott, 88, is known to visit the East Lothian town regularly.

Mr Scott, who has dementia, disappeared from his home in Elliot Road, Edinburgh around 1.30pm today.

His granddaughter shared pictures of him on social media appealing for help from East Lothian residents as she revealed he was a frequent visitor to the Honest Toun.

She said: "My 88yr old Grampa has gone missing. He's a bit unwell & vulnerable at the moment. If you see him in Edinburgh/Leith/M'burgh, plz call 101"

Mr Scott is described as between 4ft 10ins and 5ft tall with a bald head and grey hair round the side and has cuts on his nose and chin.

He was last seen wearing a grey three-quarter-length coat and may also have a chequered bonnet.

Inspector Neil Whiteside said: “William lives with dementia and as such we are eager to locate him as soon as possible to ensure he is alright.

““Anyone who has seen him since 1.30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, or who has any other information that can assist with our inquiries, should contact police immediately.”
