POLICE found more than 50 cannabis plants being grown in a flat in the Fisherrow area of Musselburgh during a late night raid.

A 30-year-old man was arrested following a search of the property, in North High Street, around 11pm on Monday.

Police said they seized 51 plants with a street value of £2,500 during a search of the flat.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police attended a flat in North High Street shortly after 11pm on Monday, January 16, where a cannabis cultivation was discovered. Fifty-one plants, with an estimated street value of £2,500 were seized and a 30-year-old man was charged in connection with this.

“A report will now be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“We are committed to tackling drug crime in East Lothian and members of the public with information on dealing or production within their area can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
