IT WAS party time at Levenhall Nursing Home last weekend, as the home’s most senior resident celebrated her birthday.

Thomasina ‘Ina’ Martin turned 102 years old and was joined by family, fellow residents and staff for a party.

Mrs Martin, who is originally from Edinburgh, stayed at Goose Green in Musselburgh before moving into the home last February.

And she has been the life and soul of the party since arriving, giving the ‘youngsters’ a run for their money.

Staff at the home said: “Ina is always involved in the activities and enjoys our trips out. She is a very happy lady and we had a super time celebrating her birthday with her.”

The great-grandmother worked in a laundry in her younger days and she can always offer advice to her housemates.

Ina said: “I am the oldest person in the home, surrounded by youngsters, but I don’t mind. We have sing-songs, dominoes and plenty of fun.”
