POLICE have discovered £8,000 of drugs, after finding cannabis in a car they stopped.
A 54-year-old man has been arrested and charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
East Lothian Proactive CID stopped a vehicle on Inveresk Road, Musselburgh, on Wednesday and discovered cannabis.
A subsequent search of an address in Wallyford found cannabis with a street value of about £8,000 and a large volume of cash.
The 54-year-old will appear at court at a later date.
Chief Inspector Matt Paden, local area commander for East Lothian, said: "Everyday we gather intelligence on those involved in drug crime within East Lothian, and regularly carry out activity like this to seize harmful substances before they can make their way into our communities.
"I would continue to urge the public to come forward with information relating to ongoing drug offences in their area so we can respond and investigate thoroughly."
