A DETAILED plan for 98 new homes off Pinkie Road in Musselburgh has been lodged with East Lothian Council.

Taylor Wimpey East Scotland’s application follows community engagement initiatives including a public exhibition on the proposal.

The development of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties is earmarked for 11 acres to complete the development at Almond Park.

Contributions would be made towards primary and secondary education, as well as an allocation of 25 per cent affordable homes to be delivered via a Section 75 agreement between Taylor Wimpey and East Lothian Council.

Pauline Mills, of Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Following public consultation, a full planning application has been submitted for the final phase of new homes and apartments at Almond Park in Musselburgh.

“As well as an impressive range of new homes, this phase of our development would continue our contribution to a range of economic benefits already having an impact in the local Musselburgh area, which includes supporting around 160 jobs per year in construction.

“We believe this phase of the development would be a great addition and it will complete our vision for the land off Pinkie Mains Road.”
