TWO people have been charged after drugs were recovered following searches of several properties, including in Musselburgh.
As a result of intelligence, police searched two properties on Newcraighall Road, Edinburgh, and an address on Bellfield Court in Musselburgh today (Friday).
A quantity of cannabis and various drug paraphernalia was subsequently seized.
A 33-year-old man and 32-year-old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal and will appear in court at a later date.
Detective Chief Inspector Kenny Gray, of the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit, said: “Acting on vital intelligence passed to us by members of the public, we attended three addresses in Edinburgh and East Lothian on Friday morning.
“This latest activity once again demonstrates our commitment to always act on information that is passed to us in order to disrupt the supply of drugs in Edinburgh and East Lothian. It also shows we will keep on targeting organised crime.
“If you have any information relating to ongoing drug crime in your area then please contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
