A CAR seized by police in a £60,000 raid was stolen from Musselburgh last year, it has been revealed.
Two men have been arrested and charged following the recovery of stolen vehicles, pproperty and drugs during raids in the south of Edinburgh this week.
Police Scotland said a Landrover Defender discovered in a rented unit in The Whisp had been identified as a car stolen from outside a business in Olivebank Road, in the town last August.
A second Landrover and an off-road motocycle were also seized from the premises and are now subject to further investigation to determine if these have also been stolen.
Police said the raid on Wednesday also saw pofficer seize 2.5 kilos of cannabis and a number of power tools, building supplies and kitchen fixtures, which are believed stolen.
The men aged 27 and 24 have been charged with reset and drugs offences and were due to appear in court this week.
Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith said: “This is another significant recovery of drugs and stolen property, all of which was to be used to fund serious and organised crime.
“The seizure of these items and the arrests should send a clear message that organised crime will not be tolerated and that we are actively targeting those involved."
