TWO 15-year-old boys have been charged after a spate of vandalisms in Musselburgh caused about £10,000 worth of damage.

During the early hours of Saturday, February 20, 20 vehicles on North High Street, New Street and Eskside West were targeted and sustained damage to their wing mirrors and windscreens.

A house was also damaged after an upstairs window was smashed and the total value caused was estimated at about £10,000.

Following a thorough investigation by local police officers, the boys, aged 15, have been charged and will now be reported for these offences.

Police are currently following a positive line of inquiry to trace other individuals believed to be involved.

Inspector Andrew Harborow, from Tranent Police Station, said: “This was a significant spate of destruction, which left the home and vehicle owners extremely upset at the damage caused.

“Despite these arrests, our investigation into these incidents is continuing and I would ask anyone with any further information that can assist with our inquiries to contact police immediately.”
