Talented young jockey dies on holiday

THE horseracing industry has been stunned by the reported sudden death of promising young jockey Campbell Gillies, from Haddington.
Campbell, who secured the biggest win of his racing career on Brindisi Breeze in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival this year, is believed to have died in an accident whilst on holiday with friends on the Greek island of Kavos yesterday. Tomorrow would have been his 22nd birthday.
News of his death has prompted a flood of online tributes to the young jockey, who attended Knox Academy.
