ATTACKS with a baseball bat, a pair of pliers and his own teeth have landed a man in jail.

Jordan Dickson assaulted his former partner by repeatedly biting her on the head and body at her home in Tranent.

Dickson, of North High Street, Musselburgh, then struggled with police officers after they had been called out to the woman’s home following the attack.

Dickson, 22, had pleaded guilty to five offences at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last month and he was back in the dock last Tuesday for sentencing.

Previously the court heard Dickson had attacked Brendan Shaw by striking him with a baseball bat at High Street, Tranent, on April 10 last year.

The court also heard details of a second assault by Dickson on Mark Hogan with a pair of pliers at the Mercat Hotel in Haddington on May 7 last year.

The assault on his former girlfriend at her Tranent home took place on June 17 last year, when as well as biting the woman, Dickson also prevented her from leaving the flat.

Sheriff Thomas Welsh QC jailed Dickson for a total of 16 months.
