TWO members of the public have been thanked for their help in talking a man down from the Nungate Bridge, Haddington.
Police were called to the bridge on February 26 after a man was reported to be standing on the parapet.
PC Lynn Black told members of Haddington’s community council: “He was shouting and stating to passers-by that he was going to jump.
“Two members of the public intervened and talked to the male, engaging with him, and managed to get him off the bridge and to a place of safety along with police.”
