A HADDINGTON teenager who smashed a skateboard over the head of a man, leaving him with horrific injuries, has been placed on a restriction of liberty order.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attacked his victim at the town’s High Street on May 15 last year.

The attack left the man with severe injuries and permanently impaired.

The 17-year-old appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court last Tuesday for sentencing after earlier pleading guilty to the assault.
