POLICE were called to a two-car smash outside Haddington this afternoon which blocked the road.

No-one was injured in the accident, which happened outside Cockles Smiddy, on the B6369 Haddington to Gifford road at about 12.40pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said that one of the drivers contacted them because the cars were "non-driveable" following the collision and blacking the carriageway.

Police were on-site directing traffic, with the road remaining open.
