A WACKY new exhibition from a Borders-based artist is taking place at Peter Potter Gallery.
John Brown's 'Doodleville' started on Saturday and runs until September 4, and is being accompanied by a series of workshops and talks as part of a new education programme.
John, a tutor at Edinburgh College of Art, has compiled hundreds of painted and drawn small-scale images to construct a larger picture - representing the dense nature of a city.
All the quirky drawings and doodles are for sale at prices ranging from £20 to £40.
John explained: "I am trying to construct the idea of a city. In particular;,a city from a distance and all the mad, big, strange, worn-out, new, drawn on, wobbly, speeding, repetitive, boring, small, biscuity, epic, stupid, dark, amazing, eatable, thrown away, found, lost, rubbley, plate-spinning, written, bricky, rubbishy, chewy, leaping, loony, flying things that it contains and compress these into one overall view."
Arabella Harvey, the gallery's artistic director, said: "Now that Kate Kilpatrick and Tracy Morgan are in post, we are able to begin to develop the exciting and innovative events that will see Peter Potter regain its position at the heart of the creative community in East Lothian."
