A MAN needed hospital treatment for facial injuries after two groups allegedly clashed on the streets of Dunbar on Monday evening.
Police said trouble broke out between men who were travelling in two separate cars through the town at about 5.30pm.
They said the fight between the two groups began on Woodbush before spilling onto Victoria Street and coming to an end on Church Street.
The 27-year-old man who received hospital treatment was later arrested and charged with public order offences.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Inspector Alan Hogarth said: “This is totally unacceptable behaviour and we are currently pursuing various lines of enquiry to find the others involved.
“Officers will be today patrolling the area in order to reassure the local community and we would urge any witnesses, or anyone with further information about this incident, to get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
