PLAIN-clothes police patrols are to be carried out in a bid to catch a thief who stole underwear from a washing line.
The unusual theft was disclosed at Dunbar Community Council’s meeting last month in a report by Police Constable Gavin Ross.
The officer later spoke to the Courier about the matter and confirmed that investigations were ongoing into the incident, which took place on Shore Street on February 1.
At that time, it was reported that a set of underwear was stolen from a washing line.
And the officer confirmed it was one of a number of similar thefts with plans for plain-clothes police patrols in these areas in a bid to catch the culprit.
If you have any information contact the police no 101 or report it anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
