STAFF at a nursery have been told to keep up the good work following a recent report.
Inspectors from Education Scotland visited Cherrytrees Children’s Nursery in Dunbar recently.
Speaking after the inspection, HM Inspector Alan Urquhart said: “We are satisfied with the overall quality of provision. “We are confident that the pre-school centre’s self-evaluation processes are leading to improvements.
“As a result, we will make no further visits in connection with this inspection.
“As part of the arrangements for reporting to parents on the quality of the pre-school centre, the local authority will inform parents about the pre-school centre’s progress.” The visit outlined a number of key strengths, as well as areas where things could improve at the nursery, on the town’s Abbey Road.
The strengths outlined in the three-page report include: confident, happy and motivated children who enjoy nursery and engage well in their learning; caring staff, led effectively by the manager, in creating a welcoming, nurturing ethos; use of the outdoors to support children’s learning; and positive links with parents and local community.
Mr Urquhart also made recommendations to improve the pre-school centre.
That included increasing the pace of developing the curriculum for all ages and involving children more in planning and developing their learning and ways of recording this.
