A HOLLYWOOD couple have tied the knot near Dunbar.

Tory Ross, who appeared on Broadway in Kinky Boots and 9 to 5: The Musical, as well as Sex and the City 2, was married to Max Roman at Broxmouth Estate on Saturday.

Friends and family from the worlds of film and theatre from across the globe, including New York City and California, joined the newly-weds.

And it was not just the venue that had an East Lothian feel to it, with the couple staying in the Bayswell Hotel, in Dunbar, and flowers supplied by Linden Flowers, from West Barns.

The happy couple even nipped into Umberto’s, on Dunbar High Street, last Wednesday for a bite to eat.

Simon Flame, owner of Broxmouth Park, was delighted to welcome the couple and their 80 guests.

He said: “They wrote in our guest book that it was the greatest day of their lives and they thought it was well worth flying from America.

“Their only regret was they could not get married again.” Mr Flame explained the wedding was not the new Mrs Roman’s first visit to Scotland, adding: “She had been to Scotland three years ago and liked the idea of coming to an exclusive venue that was far away from everything else.

“She liked the idea of their friends going on a journey and it was a fantastic atmosphere with a great crowd.

“There were lots of people from the film industry and Broadway.” Janice Bambery, partner at Linden Flowers, said planning the flowers had taken roughly a year, with various emails and images being exchanged.

She added: “We do a lot of weddings from abroad and from all over the world.

“We send images and sometimes do not meet up until the day we deliver the flowers.

“We quite like the challenge.” A theme based on airmail, with red, white and blue, was married with red tartan.

Mrs Bambery added: “Her bouquet was bound by red tartan and the napkins had red tartan; she brought a bit of America and Scotland together.” The newly-weds are now on their honeymoon, which will see them embark on a tour of Scotland before heading to Iceland.

Max, a senior executive with Netflix, and Tory said: “With guests coming from all over the globe including New York City, California, Argentina and Australia, we were slightly worried that Dunbar would feel a bit remote.

“On the contrary, everyone was astounded by the beautiful scenery, delighted with the local cuisine, and charmed by the local populace.

“We’re sure that the town has gained many fans.

“We loved Broxmouth Park and our wedding was the best day of our lives.”
