Two men have been charged with buying alcohol for youths in two separate incidents in East Lothian.
Police Scotland said a 31-year-old man was cautioned and charged in Dunbar after a 15-year-old youth was found in possession of alcohol in the town on June 20.
And, the following day, a 26-year-old man from Musselburgh, was charged with supplying alcohol to youths in Wallyford.
Both men will appear in court at a later date.
Inspector Ian Mackay of Police Scotland said: “This sends a clear message that proxy purchasing of alcohol is an offence and we will pursue those who supply alcohol to underage youths.
“Young people are more vulnerable when consuming alcohol to excess and it can also lead to anti-social behaviour.
“You may think it’s harmless, but by doing so, you could find yourself with a criminal record.”
