A TEENAGE girl has been arrested for assault after up to 300 youngsters attended an end-of-exams outdoor party at a popular beauty spot.
John Muir Country Park's Bullet Hill has been a regular hang-out for youngsters from Dunbar and all over East Lothian in recent years, who meet there to celebrate the end of school terms and exams finishing.
Saturday evening's gathering was attended by a largely good-natured crowd, but one teenage girl suffered non-serious injuries after she was struck on the head with a bottle.
Another teenage girl, aged 16, has since been charged with assault.
The consumption of alcohol at John Muir Country Park is against local bylaws but alcohol is often consumed by youngsters at the parties.
On previous occasions, some youngsters have been driven to the parties by their parents - and dropped of with large quantities of beer and spirits.
