A GREAT grandmother has turned 100 surrounded by family and friends.

Ines Craig celebrated her 100th birthday at Belhaven Hospital last Friday, where the widow was presented with a card by Deputy Lord Lieutenant Pauline Jaffray.

Ines, who was born at Dunbar’s Friarsbank, was the oldest of six children to Mr and Mrs Togneri and worked in the Central Cafe, on Dunbar’s West Port.

She married Alex Craig in Dunbar and, when Alex retired from Lothian and Borders Police in 1968, the family bought into Norman Craig House Furnishers, in Haddington.

The couple had three children – John, Norman and Jennifer – as well as four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
