A WOMAN has been killed in a crash on the A1 near Dunbar.
The crash took place at around 7.50am this morning (Friday) on the westbound carriageway near Dunbar.
A 26-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries after her Kia Cerato was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit pick-up.
The 54-year-old male driver of the pick-up was taken to the Royal Infirmary for Edinburgh for medical attention; however, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The road was closed in both directions for six and a half hours between Spott Roundabout and Thistly Cross Roundabout, near Dunbar.
The eastbound carriageway re-opened at about 2.30pm and the westbound carriageway followed about 45 minutes later.

Sergeant Gary Taylor of the Divisional Road Policing Unit based in Livingston said: "Sadly, a young woman has lost her life as a result of this collision and our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this difficult time.
"I'd urge anyone who was travelling in the area and who witnessed this incident or the movements of either vehicle prior to the collision to contact police immediately if they have not already done so."
