A ROAD through the heart of Gullane will remain open throughout the Scottish Open.
The competition, held from July 9 to 12, on Gullane No 1 and Gullane No 2, is likely to attract some of the world’s top golfers.
Preparations are now well under way for the competition, which has been won in the past by Major winners including Phil Mickelson, Luke Donald, Ernie Els and, last year, Justin Rose.
A spokeswoman for East Lothian Council said: “The council is working with Police Scotland and the event organisers, the European Tour, on preparing an effective transport management plan, which we expect to be drafted by early March.
“The A198 through Gullane will remain open during the event.” Gullane Golf Course hosting the tournament follows nearby Muirfield welcoming The Open in 2013.
