ORGANISERS of the 137th Innerwick Flower, Vegetable & Fruit Show hope not to tempt fate by predicting a dry and sunny day for the village's annual green-fingered fun.
Last year, it was rainiy and this year a cool easterly wind prevails but, nonetheless, the flowers, fruit and vegetables are still growing well and organisers and competitors alike are busy preparing for this well-established and extremely popular show.
Innerwick will be decked in its finest on August 7, ready to welcome locals and visitors alike.
The doors of the village halll open at 2pm, with the official show opening at 2.15pm.
It is not just the adults who enjoy the magnificent displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables - the juvenile section will provide much fun and interest for young and old alike.
Each year this show grows and develops and this year will be no exception.
Pony rides, a fun dog show and stalls and games will always ensure that children and adults alike have a happy, busy afternoon.
Once again Eyemouth Pipe Band will be in attendance, providing a wonderful selection of music, while visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the varied stalls, or sit peacefully in the sun.
The fun dog show always provides much mirth and merriment too!
Chris Wish, children's entertainer, will also be on hand to keep the little ones amused.
It is to be hoped that a warm afternoon will encourage people to the refreshment tent; but even if it is a little cooler, a warming cup of tea accompanied by some of the delicious scones and cakes supplied by local ladies Linda Cowan and Sheena Clark are a must.
Just in case this doesn't fill the gap, don't forget to visit the wealth of different stalls and purchase some of that wonderful home-baking and bric-a-brac.
A show spokesperson said: "Here's hoping for a wonderful day both for
exhibitors and those visiting.
"Much appreciated and helping to provide the best possible day is the kind sponsorship from Community Wind Power and British Energy."
