Tracking device sees return of stolen £12k caravan

A STOLEN caravan worth more than £12,000 turned up in Aberdeen after thieves took the vehicle from a county farm.

The Hobby VIP caravan was in storage and secured with a wheel clamp and tow lock at East Fortune Farm when the culprits struck, some point between 10pm last Monday and 7am the next day.

However, the vehicle was fitted with a tracking device, which was then activated by security company Suretrack.This allowed Grampian Police officers to locate the caravan near to an Aberdeen industrial estate at 4pm last Tuesday.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said: 'We are following a positive line of enquiry regarding this theft.

'Anyone with information regarding these crimes should contact the police on 0131 311 3131 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.'
