A DUCK was killed in Haddington before being put in a rucksack, according to police.
An investigation has been launched into the unusual incident, which took place near the Nungate Bridge, at about 10.30am on March 18.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
They said: “The suspect, described as white male, large build, late 50s greying hair with a beard, was seen to put the duck in a plastic bag and then into a rucksack before walking off in the general direction of Church Street, Haddington.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident 1819 of March 18.”
